AIT Mechanical Technician

<p style="min-height:1.5em">Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><br />We want you as a talented <strong>MAIT Mechanical Technician</strong> to help us in our mission by:</p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Taking care of the assembly of the Nyx Capsule, in collaboration with the AIT mechanical and GSE team, in close relationship with other Mechanical Technicians and under the supervision of the MAIT mechanical engineers.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Supporting the AIT propulsion and thermal assembly and tube bending in collaboration with AIT Propulsion, AIT Thermal and AIT FGSE engineers.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Supporting welding activities to be performed in TEC.</p></li></ul><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0"> </div><h2><strong>Key responsibilities</strong>:</h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Conduct regular assembly operations for our capsules, including bonding applications, thermal protection installations, and general assembly tasks, following procedures and documenting all anomalies or deviations.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Provide support for pressure testing of propulsion and thermal systems, ensuring all welded and assembled components meet required standards.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Perform basic welding tasks for various components using orbital welding techniques, focusing on propulsion and thermal systems.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Assist in the resolutions of anomalies happening during the integration and tests.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Assist in environmental testing activities, including instrumentation installation, handling, and preparation of test setups.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Support to set up a good work environment, for example, identifying any missing tools to perform all the mechanical activities.</p></li></ul><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0"> </div><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>What we would love to see from you:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical qualification as a Technician.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Versatile with assembly tasks, including occasional handling of specialized instruments and tooling.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proficient in following safety standards and maintaining quality control measures during all assembly and welding operations.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Knowledge of ESA and NASA quality and safety standards.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">English speaker.</p></li></ul><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0"> </div><p style="min-height:1.5em"><u>Desirable:</u></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">A previous experience (2/3 years) in building space vehicles.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience in welding, especially with aluminium orbital welding.</p><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0"> </div></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Why you should join us!</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">What makes us special here at The Exploration Company and why we think you will enjoy working here is:  </p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">We’re Agile - we make decisions fast whilst keeping our goals and systems in mind </p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">We’re Open and Collaborative - we are transparent about risks and obstacles, so that we can cooperate to overcome them  </p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">We have a lot of Fun - we refuel our energy knowing we are democratising space.
