Associate Investigator, Trust and Safety

You will be responsible for investigating suspicious activity, mitigating financial risk, and ensuring our community remains a safe environment for both hosts and guests. This role requires a blend of analytical thinking, resilience, and a deep commitment to operational excellence.</p> <p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage high volumes of inquiries within Intercom, providing clear, concise, and professional communication to users with an eye for process improvements</li> <li>Review sign-up, login, and transaction fraud triggers, identifying and blocking fraudulent platform behavior</li> <li>Conduct investigations to detect suspicious activity, including reviews of identity and payment verification sessions</li> <li>Review user content to ensure compliance with community guidelines and our Terms of Service and maintain platform integrity</li> <li>Process and manage global data deletion requests</li> <li>Research and document complex chargeback disputes</li> </ul> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>1-2 years of experience in Trust &amp; Safety, Risk Operations, or Customer Support.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills, high emotional resilience, and the ability to adapt to evolving fraud trends.</li> <li>Exceptional written communication skills with a focus on objectivity and clarity.</li> <li>Passionate about helping to make the Internet a safer, more trustworthy place</li> <li>Maintain a high degree of confidentiality</li> <li>Energized by investigating issues</li> <li>Have a sense of humor and enjoy working with others</li> <li>Schedule - 4 week rotation: <ul> <li>Weeks 1-3: <ul> <li>Monday - Friday; 8 hours/day (hours flexible depending on time zone)</li> </ul> </li> <li>Week 4: <ul> <li>Monday &amp; Tuesday; 8 hours/day (hours flexible depending on time zone)</li> <li>Wednesday &amp; Thursday; OFF</li> <li>Friday - Sunday; 8 hours/day (hours flexible depending on time zone)</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> <li>Bonus points: <ul> <li>Proficient in Google Sheets</li> <li>Proficiency with Stripe and Intercom (or similar CRM/Payment platforms)</li> <li>Prior experience using Forter, Sift, or other automated fraud detection tools.</li> <li>Experience handling marketplace-specific disputes.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>The hourly rate for this role is $26.00/hour.</p> </p> <p>Peerspace is proudly certified as a Great Place to Work™ and we're a remote first company with team members located in cities around the globe.
