<p><strong>konfetti</strong> is the booking platform and software for local workshops. Since our founding in April 2021, we have continuously developed our product and now work with <strong>more than 3,000 providers</strong>. In total, we offer <strong>over 13,000 experiences</strong> in Germany, Austria, and online.</p> <p><strong>Your next step → konfetti!</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a backend engineer to help us build the next generation of the konfetti platform. Our ambitions for the product have grown, and so has what we need from our backend and architecture. This is a hands-on role with real ownership of technical direction, not a ticket queue.</p> <p>You will join a lean engineering team of four, working directly with our designer and product lead. Small team, short path from idea to production, and plenty of room to leave your mark.</p> <p>Become part of a world-class team with an office-first culture in Berlin!</p> <h2>Tasks</h2> <ul> <li>You <strong>own backend features end to end</strong>, from initial analysis through deployment and monitoring, including our partner-facing booking software (Backoffice)</li> <li>You <strong>shape our architecture</strong>: you identify what is holding the product back, propose a direction, and then build it</li> <li>You work across service boundaries, data models, queues, integrations, and performance, and you <strong>improve monitoring and address technical debt</strong> without being asked</li> <li>You use <strong>AI tooling as a core part of how you work</strong>, including on parts of the stack outside your specialization</li> <li>You think critically about requirements and <strong>identify edge cases early</strong>, drawing on your experience of what can go wrong in production</li> <li>You <strong>actively collaborate</strong> with our tight-knit team of engineers, designer, and product lead in daily standups, planning, and technical discussions: asking questions when something is unclear, sharing blockers early, and contributing your perspective</li> </ul> <h2>Requirements</h2> <ul> <li>Several years of production backend experience, ideally with PHP/Laravel, and <strong>a track record of systems you built</strong> that other people still run</li> <li><strong>Strong opinions about architecture</strong>, backed by reasons and by having lived with the consequences of your past decisions</li> <li>Solid experience with <strong>AWS services</strong> such as Lambda, SQS, EC2, ECS/Fargate, CloudFront, and Bedrock, and comfort owning what you ship in production</li> <li><strong>Real fluency with AI-assisted development</strong>. We use Claude Code day to day and can also offer Cursor.
