Clinical Research Scientist

<p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>This is a Part-Time 20 hours per week role</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>About the role</strong><br />We are recruiting a Clinical Research Scientist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced clinical research professional to lead the delivery of high-quality research projects that generate meaningful evidence and improve patient outcomes.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><br />As a Clinical Research Scientist you will oversee the day-to-day management of multiple research studies, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards. You will play a key role in embedding research into clinical practice while working collaboratively with clinicians, governance teams, data specialists, and external partners.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><br />This is a hands-on leadership role where you will combine project management, research expertise, and people leadership to ensure studies are delivered efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.<br /><br /><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><br />As a Clinical Research Scientist, you will:<br />• Lead the delivery of clinical and real-world evidence research projects from set-up through to completion.<br />• Develop research protocols, study documentation, ethics applications, governance submissions, SOPs, and operational processes.<br />• Manage and mentor research staff, supporting their development while maintaining high standards of scientific and operational excellence.<br />• Oversee participant recruitment, follow-up, data collection, quality assurance, and study compliance.<br />• Monitor study progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to ensure successful project delivery.<br />• Ensure all research activities comply with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), GDPR, research governance, and regulatory requirements.<br />• Analyse and interpret research data to support evidence generation and improve patient outcomes.<br />• Prepare research reports, publications, presentations, and evidence summaries.<br />• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, academic partners, and external stakeholders to integrate research into clinical care.<br />• Build strong relationships across internal and external teams to support successful research delivery.<br /><br /><strong>What we are looking for</strong><br />• Degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Public Health, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related discipline.<br />• Significant experience delivering clinical research within healthcare, academia, life sciences, or another regulated environment.<br />• Experience leading research projects and managing research teams.<br />• Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research governance, ethics, informed consent, GDPR, and UK clinical research regulations.<br />• Understanding of UK healthcare systems, including NICE guidance and NHS structures.<br />• Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.<br />• Excellent analytical skills with experience interpreting healthcare or clinical research data.<br />• Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.<br />• Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external research partners.<br />• Experience within medical cannabis, chronic disease, pain management, health economics, outcomes research, or statistical software would be advantageous but is not essential.<br />• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage complex research programmes in a fast-paced environment.<br /><br /><strong>What we offer</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Benefits include:</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">• 25 days holiday, rising to 27 after year one and 30 after year three, plus 8 bank holidays</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">• Pension matching up to 5% employer contributions</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">• Private healthcare scheme</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">• Enhanced maternity and paternity leave</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">• Cycle-to-work and EV scheme</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">• Genuine growth: collaboration across teams, representation at industry events, and direct involvement in shaping a scaling business</p><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0"> </div><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>About Montu</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">Montu UK is the leading digital health company specialising in cannabis-based medicines, dedicated to improving patient access to safe and effective treatments.
