In Portugal, our regulatory team plays a direct role in bringing innovative crop protection products to market - and keeping them there.</p> <p>We're looking for a <strong>Country Regulatory Manager </strong>(CRM) to own the full registration lifecycle for our Portuguese product portfolio. Reporting to the Regulatory Head Portugal, this is a hands-on, expert role with real influence: you'll be the bridge between Syngenta's European regulatory strategy and Portugal's national authorities.</p> <p><strong>What you'll do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the planning and submission of registration, re-registration, and extension applications for crop protection products in Portugal, ensuring compliance with EU and national requirements.</li> <li>Manage the full evaluation follow-up process - responding to authority queries, coordinating internal expert input, and driving timelines to closure.</li> <li>Oversee regulatory compliance across labels, databases, and registration records (active substances, production sites, packaging, co-formulants).</li> <li>Coordinate national-specific actions including minor uses, emergency registrations, and label extensions.</li> <li>Advise the commercial business on regulatory trends, portfolio risks, and competitive landscape changes in Portugal.</li> <li>Build and maintain productive relationships with national authorities (DGAV, DGE, DGS) and evaluation experts from the Ministries of Health, Agriculture, and Environment.</li> <li>Partner with the European Regulatory and Submission teams, Product Safety, and country commercial colleagues to align priorities and deliver results.</li> <li>Support the Field Force with regulatory guidance and act as a specialist resource on assigned regulatory focus areas.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who you'll work with</strong></p> <p><strong>Internal:</strong> European Regulatory Team, Country Commercial Team, Product Safety, Product &amp; Regulatory Biology, Stewardship, CP Marketing &amp; Technical Support, Labelling &amp; SDS teams.</p> <p><strong>External:</strong> National authorities (DGAV, DGE, DGS), Ministerial evaluation experts, third-party licensing partners, CropLife Portugal, academic and scientific community.</p> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong>What we're looking for</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree in Agronomic Science or a relevant scientific discipline, plus <strong>at least 5 years' experience</strong> in Regulatory Affairs for plant protection products.</li> <li>Solid understanding of EU and Portuguese regulatory frameworks for crop protection.</li> <li>Strong English (required); Portuguese fluency expected; additional languages a plus.</li> <li>Ability to read, critically assess, and summarize complex scientific data.</li> <li>Sharp stakeholder management - you're comfortable navigating both internal teams and government authorities.</li> <li>Proactive mindset: you anticipate regulatory shifts and flag them before they become problems.</li> <li>Organised and delivery-focused, able to manage multiple dossiers and competing deadlines without losing detail.</li> <li>Proficient with regulatory and office IT tools.</li> </ul> <h2>Additional Information</h2> <p><strong>Why Syngenta</strong></p> <p>At Syngenta, you'll be part of a team where regulatory expertise is genuinely valued - not just as a compliance function, but as a strategic contributor to the business.
