As part of this continued development, we are looking to strengthen our Data Engineering team and&nbsp;maximise&nbsp;the value&nbsp;from&nbsp;the wealth of data held across the&nbsp;organisation.&nbsp;</p> <p>We are looking for a Data Engineer to help design,&nbsp;build&nbsp;and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;reliable, scalable data solutions. Working as part of an established Data Engineering team, you will contribute to the development of our data platform, strengthen engineering&nbsp;practices&nbsp;and help improve the quality and reliability of data across the&nbsp;organisation.&nbsp;</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer with strong SQL and Python skills to work with modern cloud data technologies, contribute to our engineering&nbsp;standards&nbsp;and play a part in delivering and evolving PHMG's Data Strategy.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you will do:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Design, build and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;scalable,&nbsp;reliable&nbsp;and maintainable data pipelines and datasets.</li> <li>Play a key role in developing and improving our Microsoft Fabric data platform.</li> <li>Contribute to the design and development of data warehouse,&nbsp;lakehouse&nbsp;and data integration solutions.</li> <li>Apply strong engineering practices across source control, CI/CD, testing, documentation,&nbsp;monitoring&nbsp;and error handling.</li> <li>Develop and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;data models to support reporting,&nbsp;analytics&nbsp;and wider business use cases.</li> <li>Collaborate with other Data Engineers and technical teams to improve data architecture, platform&nbsp;performance&nbsp;and engineering processes.</li> <li>Work closely with Reporting, Insights and Data Science teams to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The person we are looking for will have the following experience:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Strong SQL skills, including experience writing and&nbsp;optimising&nbsp;complex queries and data transformations.</li> <li>Strong Python skills, with practical experience using Python for data engineering, data&nbsp;processing&nbsp;or automation.</li> <li>Proven experience designing and building data pipelines, with a strong understanding of modern ETL/ELT practices.</li> <li>Experience working with modern cloud data platforms and orchestration technologies. Experience within the Microsoft data ecosystem would be&nbsp;advantageous.</li> <li>Experience of data modelling for reporting and analytics, including dimensional modelling and designing datasets for downstream consumption.</li> <li>Experience with modern engineering practices including Git-based source control, CI/CD, testing,&nbsp;monitoring&nbsp;and error handling.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Experience working effectively within agile, cross-functional teams.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Nice-to-have experience:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Fabric, including Warehouse,&nbsp;Lakehouse&nbsp;and Data Factory capabilities.</li> <li>Infrastructure as Code approaches and tools such as Terraform.</li> <li>API-based, event-driven&nbsp;or operational system integrations, such as Salesforce.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Team</strong>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Data Engineering team sits within PHMG's wider Data function and&nbsp;is responsible for&nbsp;building and&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;the platforms, pipelines and data models that underpin reporting,&nbsp;analytics&nbsp;and data science across the organisation.&nbsp;</p> <p>The team works closely with Reporting &amp; Insights, Data Science,&nbsp;IT&nbsp;and other&nbsp;business&nbsp;teams to make data reliable,&nbsp;accessible&nbsp;and useful across the business.
