Echoing Green invests $1 million in follow-on funding in Fellow-led organizations

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In its eighth cycle of </span><a href="https://echoinggreen.org/follow-on-funding/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">follow-on funding</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, Echoing Green has invested $1.025 million in Fellow-led organizations. This unrestricted capital will support Fellows who are testing new ideas or models and expanding existing programming to scale. These 26 leaders are driving equity across issue areas, including economic development for rural women farmers in the Caribbean, public health in the Horn of Africa, and healthcare for LGBTQ+ communities in India. By taking a continuum of capital approach that includes follow-on funding, Echoing Green’s funding opportunities are designed to meet the needs of founders across various stages of the social entrepreneurship journey.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This funding will be transformative in advancing a more equitable and climate-resilient future for women in Caribbean agriculture,” said Keithlin Caroo-Afrifa ‘22, Founder and Executive Director of Helen’s Daughters.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">“With this investment, we can scale sustainable models that place women farmers at the center of food security and economic empowerment.” </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This funding helps us continue our work while defending against attacks on democracy and the rule of law, in D.C. and beyond,” said Patrice Sulton ‘22, Executive Director of DC Justice Lab. “With this support, we will continue to fight for the District’s right to self-determination and to push back against policies that undermine the safety and dignity of everyone who lives here.”</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Echoing Green received more than 150 applications for this cycle and saw an unprecedented need for capital to help sustain and scale vitally important work to protect and build more equitable systems.
