Company: Ocean Hotels Barbados<br><br>SUMMARY: Performs a combination of tasks to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and orderliness in the hotel. To ensure guest rooms, working areas and the hotel’s premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.<br><br><strong>Duties And Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Operates in full compliance with the AAA 5 Diamond standards.</li><li>Cleans and sanitized rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture - using vacuum cleaner, broom, as necessary.</li><li>Washes walls, ceilings, steps, patios, walkways, doors and window screens of the hotel rooms and public areas. Moves and arranges furniture, turns mattresses, hangs or removes fixtures, ornaments or pictures in guest rooms and offices as required.</li><li>Sweeps, mops, scrubs, sanitized, waxes, and polishes floors and immediate surroundings including lounge cushions. </li><li>Sweeps and scrubs corridors in front of guest rooms, removing any bottles.</li><li>Assists the Room Attendants in labour intensive tasks such as, flipping mattresses, hanging pictures and moving furniture or debris.</li><li>Make sure that outside areas such as patios and corridors are kept clean, sanitized, tidy and in working order.</li><li>Dusts and polishes metal work with Quimplex, (where applicable). </li><li>Collects soiled laundry for laundering, count dirty linen for collection, (where applicable).</li><li>Stores linen/literature supplies in service area closets.</li><li>Deliver clean linen or requested items to Room Attendants, (where applicable).</li><li>Clean, sanitized and polish elevator as often as possible</li><li>Assists with fixing of drapes etc.</li><li>Clean and sanitized linen chute, (where applicable). </li><li>Perform the specified duties at any of the properties of the Ocean Hotels Group.</li><li>Assist in any area that falls within your division. Perform any ancillary and / or related duties as may be assigned by Management.</li><li>Clean and sanitized gym daily including equipment; remove dirty towels and garbage, replenish water and clean towels, (where applicable).</li><li>Cleans ceiling fans, mirrors and glass doors, shower doors, lighting fixtures in rooms and public areas. </li><li>Cleans all directional signs, linen closet, electrical and exit doors of all corridors.</li><li>Attends daily briefings, departmental or other meetings as required.</li><li>Adheres to Company policies, standards and procedures, including Health and Safety, Fire Prevention, Hygiene and Discipline.</li><li>Attends training courses as agreed with Management, Human Resources Department or your Supervisor.</li><li>Assists in the lifting of heavy items in excess of 30lbs.</li><li>In addition to the duties which this job normally entails, you will be required to be completely flexible in this position and must be prepared to undertake such other work as may be assigned to you by the Company from time to time. Such work can be done outside the area of your normal duties. </li><li>This job description will be amended from time to time.
