Our work is measured by its effect on the rest of engineering: reliable systems, sound architecture, and tooling that let product teams focus on their features rather than the underlying infrastructure.<br /><br />Our areas of ownership:</p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>The Flutter mobile app foundation</strong> - shared components and design system, app architecture, state management, and performance.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>The core backend in Go</strong> - the shared services and conventions that product features are built on.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Infrastructure and delivery</strong> - CI/CD, store distribution, release tooling, and the feedback loops between writing code and shipping it.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Developer experience</strong> - the internal tooling and standards that keep the wider organisation productive.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Agentic and AI infrastructure</strong> - how AI tooling is integrated into our codebase and workflows today, and how it will factor into the product over time.<br /></p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em">We are looking for a <strong>Mobile Platform Engineer </strong>to help shape and maintain this foundation. The role's focus is the <strong>mobile app</strong>, but we expect genuine interest in the full scope of Foundation's work - the team's value comes from its leverage across all of these areas, not from any single feature.<br /></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Mobile foundation</strong>. Own the core of our Flutter app: shared components, the design system, performance, and tooling.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Architecture</strong>. Define how we build features - the patterns we use, how we manage state, and how the app integrates with backend services - and guide product teams in applying them.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Developer experience</strong>. Improve the end-to-end developer workflow, from CI/CD and store distribution to internal tooling and faster feedback loops. Remove the recurring friction that slows other teams down.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Agentic and AI infrastructure</strong>. Integrate AI tooling into our codebase and workflows, and help determine its role in the product. A research background is not required, but a serious interest in agents as an engineering discipline is.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Maintenance and reliability</strong>. Alongside new work, keep the existing foundation healthy and dependable, so product teams can build on it with confidence.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p></li></ul><h2><strong>Your Background</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Several years of experience delivering production software at scale, ideally including responsibility for the architecture of a mobile application.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong, multi year experience in building mobile apps with Flutter and Dart.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Solid mobile DevOps experience - CI/CD, store distribution, and release management.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">A genuine interest in AI as an engineering surface; curiosity matters more than formal background.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">A preference for improving the systems that slow others down.
