Platform Engineer

<h3>About the Role</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em">A fast-growing, Berlin-based enterprise AI platform startup is looking for a <strong>Platform Engineer</strong> to help build and maintain the backbone of their multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure. Founded in 2023 and backed by notable investors, the company serves thousands of enterprise customers and is scaling rapidly. You'll be a critical hire on a small, high-calibre team, working on-site in Berlin.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and security — partnering closely with both internal Product Engineers and external customer IT teams to enable reliable, compliant, and scalable AI deployments across diverse cloud environments.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Visa sponsorship is available for this role.</strong></p><h3>What You'll Do</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Manage and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Deploy and maintain the platform across multiple customer cloud environments, including <strong>GCP, AWS, Azure, and OpenShift</strong></p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code tools (<strong>Terraform, Bicep</strong>)</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Monitor and optimize application performance and infrastructure costs</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Ensure security and compliance standards are upheld across all cloud environments</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Collaborate with Product Engineers to support the rollout of new features</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues promptly</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Document deployment processes and maintain runbooks for different customer environments</p></li></ul><h3>What We're Looking For</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Must-haves:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">3+ years of software or platform engineering experience</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Native-level German or <strong>minimum B2 German proficiency</strong> — required for direct customer communications with enterprise IT teams</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proven hands-on experience with platform-level engineering responsibilities (deployment, infrastructure ops, reliability)</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience deploying and operating enterprise platforms across <strong>Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or OpenShift</strong></p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Hands-on experience with <strong>Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Azure Container Apps, and GitHub Actions</strong></p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with <strong>PostgreSQL and Redis</strong> in production environments</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Solid understanding of security best practices in cloud deployments</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong CS fundamentals and ability to implement and uphold platform reliability standards</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with infrastructure cost optimisation and observability tooling</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiarity with Bicep for Azure infrastructure automation</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Background working with enterprise customers or in a customer-facing infrastructure capacity</p></li></ul><h3>Compensation &amp; Benefits</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Salary:</strong> €75,000 – €120,000 per year, depending on experience</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Visa sponsorship available</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Opportunity to join a small, high-impact engineering team at an early stage</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Work on cutting-edge enterprise AI infrastructure used by thousands of organisations</p></li></ul><h3>Location</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em">This is a <strong>full-time, on-site role</strong> based in <strong>Berlin, Germany</strong>.
