We challenge, we champion, and we have each other’s backs - because we know that when we stand together, we move faster and build better.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>The impact is real:</strong> Last year alone, the businesses on our platform generated £7.2bn for the UK economy 📈 <strong>Come and join a mission that matters!</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">[<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.fundingcircle.com/uk/impact"><u>Read our Impact Report</u></a>] | [<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/fundingcircle.com"><u>See our Trustpilot</u></a>]</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2>The role ⚡</h2><p style="min-height:1.5em">📍 London (Hybrid) | 🤝 2 days in the office | 💰 Competitive Salary + Benefits</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">As our Platform &amp; Workplace Engineering Director, you'll be responsible for leading both our Cloud Platform and Enterprise Service orgs:</p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Leading and developing two engineering teams — Cloud Platform (cloud infrastructure, observability, SRE, incident response) and Enterprise Services (IT support, IAM, Okta, Slack and core SaaS) — setting technical direction, hiring and performance standards across both.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Delivering the reliability, performance and cost-efficiency of the cloud platform underpinning production services, including SLOs, on-call and incident response practices, and post-incident learning, in line with the broader infrastructure strategy.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Executing the roadmap for enterprise services and identity, treating internal IT as an engineering discipline — automation-first, self-service where possible, and measured on employee productivity and security outcomes.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Tracking and reporting meaningful operational metrics — availability, MTTR, change failure rate, identity hygiene, endpoint and SaaS posture, support responsiveness — and using them to drive continuous improvement within the function.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Acting as a senior operational escalation point for major incidents across both production and corporate environments, leading technical response and keeping the VP and wider stakeholders informed.</p></li></ul><h2></h2><h2><strong>What we’re looking for 🌱</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">A track record of leading engineering teams at scale (managers of managers experience preferred)</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Deep credibility in either cloud platform or modern enterprise engineering — and the breadth to lead both.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><em>We’re building a place where everyone truly feels they belong.
