This role is responsible for managing environmental investigations, remediation projects, client relationships, and multidisciplinary project teams while providing technical leadership and mentoring to staff.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Manage and conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).</li><li>Plan, coordinate, and oversee soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.</li><li>Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations.</li><li>Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.</li><li>Coordinate and oversee field investigations, including drilling activities, logging borings, trenches, and cores.</li><li>Evaluate geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental site conditions.</li><li>Conduct and oversee soil, soil gas, vapor, and groundwater sampling programs.</li><li>Prepare technical reports, work plans, proposals, cost estimates, and regulatory submittals.</li><li>Interface with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies regarding project requirements and compliance matters.</li><li>Provide technical support, mentorship, and guidance to staff scientists, engineers, geologists, and field technicians.</li><li>Participate in business development activities and support the growth of the environmental practice.</li><li>Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum of 5–10 years of environmental consulting experience.</li><li>Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.</li><li>Professional licensure as a Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.</li><li>Experience managing Phase I and Phase II environmental investigations and remediation projects.</li><li>Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.</li><li>Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and technical staff.</li><li>Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently while effectively leading project teams.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>Advanced degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.</li><li>Experience working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), Regional Water Quality Control Boards (RWQCBs), and local Environmental Health agencies.</li><li>Familiarity with California environmental regulations, remediation programs, and regulatory processes.</li><li>Experience supporting construction-related environmental projects.</li><li>Local Southern California environmental consulting experience preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated experience mentoring junior staff and supporting technical team development.</li><li>Strong client management and relationship-building skills.</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><p>Salary range: </p><p>Senior Project Geologist/Engineer: $130,000-150,000/year</p><p>Project Geologist/Engineer: $110,000-130,000/year</p><p>Your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.</p><p>For more information, please visit www.socotec.us</p><p>Job Type: Full-Time; in-office, with possibility of one day remote/ hybrid schedule</p><p>SOCOTEC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p><p>SOCOTEC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p>
