Senior Financial Accountant & Controller (m, f, d)

<br><strong>Your Responsibilities </strong><p><strong>Key Activities &amp; Responsibilities:</strong><br><strong><br></strong><strong>Financial Accounting<br></strong>• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.<br>• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts.<br>• Ensure compliance with German GAAP and IFRS (where applicable).<br>• Assist with statutory financial statements and external audits.<br>• Support accounting process improvements and internal controls.<br>• Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and General<br>Ledger teams and Business partners of each University.<br><br><strong>Controlling &amp; Financial Analysis <br></strong>• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.<br>• Prepare monthly management reports and financial analyses.<br>• Perform actual vs. budget and forecast variance analyses.<br>• Monitor departmental costs and financial performance.<br>• Develop financial models and ad hoc analyses to support management decisions.<br>• Assist in KPI reporting and performance monitoring.<br>• Support business cases and investment analyses<br><br><strong>Business Partnering<br></strong>• Work with department managers to understand financial performance.<br>• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.<br>• Assist with cost optimization initiatives and financial planning activities.<br><br><strong>Continuous Improvement<br></strong>• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.<br>• Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.<br>• Contribute to the development of standardized reporting and documentation</p><br><strong>Your profile</strong><p><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>Education</strong></span><br><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong><br></strong>• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. </span><br><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br><strong>Experience<br></strong>• 1–3 years of experience in external audit with a recognized audit firm (preferred).<br>• Experience in financial accounting and financial reporting.<br>• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or controlling is an advantage.<br>• Experience in an international environment is desirable.</span><br><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br><strong>Technical Skills<br></strong>• Strong understanding of accounting principles.<br>• Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB).
