Senior Product Manager - Prepaid Cards

The team agrees– our employee NPS is in the high 80s.</p> </p> <p><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p>We’re looking for a Senior PM to join our new Prepaid Cards team. Prepaid cards are one of Tremendous's largest catalog categories, already processing millions of cards a year. We're expanding into new card types and new countries, and we need a PM to own it.</p> </p> <p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p><strong>Own prepaid cards end-to-end.</strong> You’ll be the sole PM for our prepaid cards product area, including our US program that already processes millions of digital and physical cards annually. You’ll own the full cardholder journey, including issuance at scale, fraud prevention, and lifecycle management, while also launching new programs and product offerings.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Work across technical systems and partners.</strong> This is a technical product that requires close collaboration with banks, card networks (e.g. Visa, Mastercard), processors, and wallet providers (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay), as well as internal stakeholders including senior leaders.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Manage our product roadmap.</strong> You’ll be working with stakeholders to help figure out what to build and when. When things are unclear, you'll resolve the ambiguity for the team.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Frame up problems.</strong> You’ll be expected to explain what problems we are solving and why. This helps our engineers and designers understand how to solve those problems.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Conduct research and analysis.</strong> In order to frame those problems well, you’ll need to collect supporting evidence–from user interviews, market research, and competitive analysis.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Work with designers and engineers to devise solutions.</strong> PMs set requirements and then work with designers and engineers to select appropriate solutions.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Collaborate without meetings.</strong> Tremendous has an async, non-meeting culture. This can be tricky if you're used to doing PM work in meetings.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Persuade with a light touch.</strong> Not everyone will agree on priorities. It's the PM's job to drive decisions while keeping people in the process.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Report back on what’s working.</strong> Once we ship, you’ll be responsible for helping the team understand the impact of their work.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll bring</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>6+ years building and shipping web applications as a designer, engineer, or product manager at tech companies.</p> </li> <li> <p>2+ years as a PM in startup environments (ideally growth-stage companies).</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with card products (prepaid, debit, credit, or similar).</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong product intuition. You can look at a problem and see the right solution.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong design judgment and technical fluency. You hold your own with designers and engineers.</p> </li> <li> <p>The ability to take a long-term strategy and a big feature backlog and translate that into roadmaps.</p> </li> <li> <p>Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. We’re a documentation-first culture, and this role requires communicating effectively with senior stakeholders.</p> </li> <li> <p>Comfortable making decisions without perfect information and moving work forward without being told to.</p> </li> <li> <p>Genuine empathy for users and teammates.
