Senior Software Engineer - Platform

Because it’s embedded in daily operations, our SaaS platform has immediate, real-world impact, on efficiency, margins, and how businesses run day to day.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">As a <strong>Senior Software Engineer, Platform</strong>, you'll build the technical foundation that enables every engineering team at Choco to build, ship, and operate software reliably at scale.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">As we grow and serve increasingly demanding enterprise customers, our platform needs to evolve. You'll help improve the backend architecture, infrastructure, and developer tooling that keeps our systems scalable, reliable, and maintainable—while making engineers across the company more productive.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">This isn't a role for someone who wants to work on infrastructure in isolation. You'll own problems end-to-end, from understanding why they matter to designing, shipping, operating, and driving adoption of the right solution.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h1>What you'll do</h1><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Design and build scalable backend systems, platform capabilities, and shared services used across Engineering.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Improve developer experience through reusable tooling, frameworks, APIs, and automation.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Operate and continuously improve distributed production systems with reliability, observability, and maintainability in mind.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Partner closely with Product Engineering teams to solve complex technical problems and remove platform bottlenecks.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Drive technical initiatives from architecture through implementation, rollout, and operational adoption.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Make pragmatic engineering decisions that balance long-term quality with business priorities.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Help prepare Choco's platform for the next stage of enterprise-scale growth.<br /></p></li></ul><h1>What you bring</h1><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Significant experience building and operating backend systems at meaningful production scale.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, scalable APIs, and cloud infrastructure.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">A track record of owning complex technical problems from discovery through implementation and production operation.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Sound engineering judgement—you know when to improve existing systems, when to simplify, and when not to redesign.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with TypeScript is a plus.
