Senior Solution Architect (Freelance, Hybrid)

<p>For a complex, multi-system transformation project, we are looking for an experienced <strong>Solution Architect</strong> on a freelance basis.</p> <p>The Solution Architect will provide an end-to-end view of the overall solution landscape and will ensure that business requirements, technical components, interfaces and architectural dependencies are consistently understood and aligned.</p> <p>A key objective of the assignment is to create transparency regarding the existing and required solution architecture, identify gaps and dependencies and ensure that necessary architectural decisions are taken and documented.</p> <p>The role requires strong experience in complex enterprise environments involving multiple applications, interfaces, internal stakeholders and external solution providers. Experience in a specific industry or with one particular software product is not required.</p> <p><strong>Key Facts / Framework Conditions</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Contract type:</strong> Freelance assignment</li> <li><strong>Start:</strong> As soon as possible</li> <li><strong>Duration:</strong> Expected until the planned go-live in May 2027</li> <li><strong>Workload:</strong> 100%</li> <li><strong>Working model:</strong> Hybrid</li> <li><strong>Onsite presence:</strong> Regular onsite presence will be required, particularly during the initial stabilisation phase</li> <li><strong>Languages:</strong> Fluent German and English are mandatory</li> <li><strong>Location requirement:</strong> Only candidates based in the EU can be considered for this assignment.</li> </ul> <h2>Tasks</h2> <ul> <li>Establish and maintain an end-to-end view of the overall solution and application landscape</li> <li>Analyse the existing solution architecture, system responsibilities and integration landscape</li> <li>Create transparency regarding applications, interfaces, data flows and technical dependencies</li> <li>Support the clarification and structuring of business and technical requirementsIdentify missing, inconsistent or insufficiently documented requirements</li> <li>Translate business requirements into coherent solution and integration concepts</li> <li>Ensure alignment between functional requirements, technical design and implementation</li> <li>Coordinate architectural topics across internal teams, external partners and solution providers</li> <li>Define and document architectural principles, responsibilities and decision criteria</li> <li>Establish and maintain an architecture decision logIdentify architectural risks, gaps and unresolved dependencies</li> <li>Prepare options and recommendations for critical solution decisionsFacilitate architecture and solution alignment workshops</li> <li>Ensure that interface responsibilities and integration requirements are clearly defined</li> <li>Assess the impact of changes across the overall solution landscape</li> <li>Support planning for data, testing, deployment and operational readiness from an architectural perspective</li> <li>Review solution designs and challenge technical assumptions where necessary</li> <li>Support the project leadership in assessing technical feasibility, risks and go-live readiness</li> <li>Ensure that architectural decisions are documented, communicated and followed through to implementation</li> </ul> <h2>Requirements</h2> <ul> <li>Several years of experience as a Solution Architect in complex enterprise or transformation environments</li> <li>Proven experience in designing and managing end-to-end solution architectures involving multiple applications and providers</li> <li>Strong understanding of system integration, interfaces, data flows and technical dependencies</li> <li>Experience in translating business requirements into coherent solution and integration concepts</li> <li>Ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies and unresolved dependencies within complex solution landscapes</li> <li>Strong experience in managing and documenting architectural decisions</li> <li>Experience in coordinating architecture topics across business, IT, implementation teams and external solution providers</li> <li>Ability to evaluate solution options and clearly communicate technical risks, implications and recommendations</li> <li>Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills</li> <li>Broad architectural understanding without being limited to one specific technology or software product</li> <li>Structured, analytical and solution-oriented working style</li> <li>Fluent German and English</li> </ul> <p>Find <a href="https://www.arbeitnow.com">Jobs in Germany</a> on Arbeitnow</a>
