Software Engineer

<h3>About the Role</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em">Join a small, fast-moving engineering team at a seed-stage AI voice platform company building the infrastructure that powers thousands of automated customer conversations every day. This is a high-impact, end-to-end ownership role — you'll work directly alongside customers, shape core architecture decisions, and ship meaningful product experiences in an AI-first, communications-enabled environment. You'll be part of a driven, low-ego team working on-site in Berlin.</p><h3>What You'll Do</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Work closely with customers to deeply understand their problems and design product experiences that solve real challenges.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Build scalable backend infrastructure capable of handling thousands of AI-driven phone calls per day.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Create intuitive, AI-first user experiences that set a new standard for human–machine interaction.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Own high-stakes projects end-to-end — from initial concept through production deployment and post-release support.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Contribute to core architectural decisions that shape the platform's future.</p></li></ul><h3>What We're Looking For</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Required</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">2+ years of professional software engineering experience.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong PostgreSQL experience, including complex queries, performance tuning, and optimization.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proven experience designing scalable backend architectures and making core product and architectural decisions.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with scalable async processing or real-time processing systems.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Hands-on experience building products for AI-first or communications-enabled platforms.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Demonstrated ability to take a product from 0 to 1 and own it through production.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — able to translate customer problems into product solutions.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiarity with <strong>TypeScript, React, Node.js,</strong> and <strong>Python</strong>.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Willingness to work on-site in <strong>Berlin, Germany</strong>.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiarity with <strong>Temporal.io, Twilio,</strong> or <strong>Modal</strong>.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with voice infrastructure or telephony systems.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Background at a startup or high-growth technology company.</p></li></ul><h3>Compensation &amp; Benefits</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Salary:</strong> €75,000 – €160,000 per year, depending on experience.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Visa sponsorship is available.</p></li></ul><h3>Location</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em">This role is <strong>on-site in Berlin, Germany</strong>. Candidates must be willing and able to work from the Berlin office.
