Software Engineer

<h3>About the Role</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em">This is a rare opportunity to join a <strong>pre-seed AI-powered construction tech startup</strong> in Berlin as one of the founding engineers. You'll work on a browser-based platform that uses AI to automate complex building design workflows — including technical building equipment (TGA) planning and electrical schematic generation — reducing planning timelines from weeks to hours.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">As an early Software Engineer, you'll have real influence over architecture, tooling, and infrastructure decisions. You'll help shape the core backend and plugin architecture, deliver prototypes, and drive the MVP to production-readiness across multiple ecosystems.</p><h3>What You'll Do</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Contribute to the design and delivery of prototypes for AI-powered building design features.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Drive the MVP to production-readiness across multiple software ecosystems (including integrations with tools such as Revit).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Process and handle large quantities of CAD data at scale.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Help define backend and plugin architecture, as well as infrastructure setup.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code with strong CS fundamentals.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Deliver solutions that span multiple platforms and ecosystems.</p></li></ul><h3>What We're Looking For</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Required:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proficiency in <strong>C# or Python</strong> for backend software development.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Strongly preferred:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with <strong>CAD data processing</strong> and implementing data structures and algorithms for scalable software.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proven ability to design, build, and ship <strong>production-ready MVPs</strong>.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Hands-on experience contributing to <strong>infrastructure setup</strong>.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Ability and enthusiasm to influence <strong>architecture and tooling decisions</strong>, including backend and plugin architecture.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Comfort working across multiple ecosystems and with large, complex datasets.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong computer science fundamentals.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Background in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) software space.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with BIM tools or platforms such as Revit.</p></li></ul><h3>Location</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Berlin, Germany</strong> — hybrid working model (approximately 3 days per week in office).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Visa sponsorship is <strong>not available</strong> for this role.</p></li></ul><h3>Compensation &amp; Benefits</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em">Compensation details have not been specified for this role.
