Visiting Finance Analyst

<h3>About the Role</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em">A fast-growing, AI-powered EdTech startup based in Berlin is looking for a <strong>Visiting Finance Analyst</strong> to join the Finance team on a <strong>full-time, on-site basis</strong>. This is a rare opportunity for an early-career finance professional or student to work directly alongside the Director of Finance &amp; People and company founders — with real ownership, genuine exposure to leadership, and a front-row seat to building a modern finance function from the ground up.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">If you're curious, proactive, and excited about the intersection of finance and AI-driven automation, this role is for you.</p><h3>What You'll Do</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Act as a right hand to the Director of Finance, preparing decision briefs, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and keeping projects on track.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and coordinate with external auditors.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Contribute to accurate, reliable financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Assist with operational controlling, including budget planning, financial forecasting, and liquidity tracking.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Build monthly reports, conduct ad hoc deep dives, and translate data into clear, decision-ready analysis.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual workflows using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Help transition the finance function from static reporting to dynamic, AI-enhanced financial intelligence.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and legal providers, and collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Growth and Engineering.</p></li></ul><h3>What We're Looking For</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Required:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Currently studying, on a gap year, or recently graduated in business, finance, economics, or a related field.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong analytical mindset with solid Excel skills — able to turn messy data into clear, actionable answers.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Keen interest in AI tools and automation.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Foundational understanding of accounting principles.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong written and spoken <strong>German and English</strong> (both required).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proactive, self-driven, and pragmatic — comfortable taking ownership and working closely with leadership.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Nice to Have:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Prior internship or coursework in finance, accounting, controlling, or consulting.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiarity with BI or low-code platforms.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Knowledge of German accounting practices (HGB) or IFRS.</p></li></ul><h3>Compensation &amp; Benefits</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Compensation details to be discussed during the hiring process.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Direct mentorship from senior leadership and founders.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Significant ownership and responsibility from day one.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Opportunity to work at a high-growth startup operating across 30+ countries.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><em>Please note: visa sponsorship is not available for this role.</em></p><h3>Location</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em">This is a <strong>fully on-site role</strong> based in <strong>Berlin, Germany</strong>.
