Weave to partner with 25 new organizations to host the Weave Awards

Through the Weaver Awards, 150+ community weavers have received funding, resources, and the networks they need to deepen their work.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">This year, <a href="https://awards.weavers.org/?utm_source=weaverawards.org&amp;utm_medium=vanity_url&amp;utm_campaign=redirect">Weave selected its inaugural cohort of 25 Community Hosts</a> to bring the Weaver Awards to their areas. Each Community Host is currently accepting applications to recognize individual weavers and support their efforts with $2,500-$5,000 microgrants. Many are using this exciting moment to host summer gatherings and other community events that build further connections between neighbors. Through the leadership of the first group of Community Hosts, 500+ individuals from across the country will be celebrated with Weaver Awards by the end of this year.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Alamo Colleges District is one of our Community Hosts excited to accelerate the impact of local weavers. “There are many grassroots leaders in our community doing great work,” says Domingo Figueroa, their Program Manager – Arts, Culture, &amp; Community Impact.<strong> </strong>“This partnership with Weave gives us a platform to help accelerate their work and create a ripple effect that invites many others to transform our district for the better.”</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">But the fun doesn’t end this summer. This winter, Weave will select 25 more organizations to become Community Hosts. Each Community Host will receive $225,000 over two years in start-up funding along with proven tools and templates, capacity building resources, and a national peer network.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">“We’re excited to bring more weavers into our people-powered movement of connection, building social trust and belonging,” said Frederick J. Riley, executive director of Weave: The Social Fabric Project. “Each new community and each new community host reaffirms what I know to be true about trust-building: relationships grow at the speed of trust. Partnering with the people and organizations that are already weaving their neighborhoods together enables Weave to get resources and support into those communities faster, and positions their local weavers to grow their reach and impact sooner.”&nbsp;</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Do you know an organization who is a leader with strong local ties that would make a great Community Host?
