Java Technical Lead - Enterprise Applications & Power Platform

<p style="text-align:start;">We are looking for an experienced Java Technical Lead to shape enterprise software solutions and guide a development team from initial design through to delivery. Combining hands-on Java engineering with Microsoft Power Platform expertise, you will connect custom applications with automation and low-code capabilities to address business needs.</p><p style="text-align:start;min-height: 1.7em;"></p><p style="text-align:start;">This role offers the opportunity to influence architecture, mentor developers, and work closely with technical and business stakeholders.</p><p style="min-height: 1.7em;"></p><p>Location: London, hybrid</p><p style="min-height: 1.7em;"></p><p style="text-align:start;"><strong>Responsibilities &amp; Tasks:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Guide a Java development team, providing technical direction, mentoring, and support with complex engineering challenges.</p></li><li><p>Design maintainable application architectures and establish consistent engineering practices across the team.</p></li><li><p>Develop enterprise Java applications, REST APIs, and microservices, remaining actively involved in implementation.</p></li><li><p>Build cloud-native solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and security.</p></li><li><p>Integrate Power Platform workflows and applications with enterprise systems and services.</p></li><li><p>Lead code reviews and drive improvements in software quality, automated delivery, and CI/CD practices.</p></li><li><p>Work with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and evaluate technical options.</p></li><li><p>Turn business needs into practical solution designs and achievable development plans.</p></li><li><p>Identify technical risks and dependencies early and help the team deliver agreed milestones.</p></li><li><p>Support the full software development lifecycle, from technical discovery and design to deployment and ongoing improvement.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height: 1.7em;"></p> <br> <p><strong>Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>At least eight years of professional experience developing Java applications.</p></li><li><p>A minimum of two years of practical experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including integration with enterprise applications.</p></li><li><p>Previous responsibility for leading development teams and mentoring engineers.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and enterprise application development.</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.</p></li><li><p>Experience making architectural decisions and balancing business priorities with technical requirements.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code quality practices, performance tuning, and secure development.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height: 1.7em;"></p><p>Experience with Agile or Scrum delivery, exposure to banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, or retail, and relevant Power Platform, Azure, or architecture certifications would be advantageous.</p><p><br></p><p style="min-height: 1.7em;"></p><p>Find <a href="https://www.arbeitnow.co.uk">Jobs in United Kingdom</a> on Arbeitnow</a>
