Heat Exchanger Development Engineering Intern

<p style="min-height:1.5em">Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">We are also developing different types of propulsion systems to power our future vehicles and missions. As a talented <strong>Heat Exchanger Development Engineering Intern</strong>, you will work on test bench design and operation for fluidic components.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Key Responsibilities / Tasks:</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">In your capacity as a<strong> Heat Exchanger Development Engineering Intern</strong>, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:</p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Design of a test bench for fluidic components</p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Concept creation and trade-offs</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">P&amp;ID (piping and instrumentation diagram)</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">CAD design</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Component choice and procurement </p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">DAQ (data acquisition system) support</p></li></ul></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Commission of the bench</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Operation of the bench</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Data post-processing and interpretation</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Documentation and onboarding of the team</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><br /><strong>What we would love to see from you:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Finished Bachelor's degree or extensive progress in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with CAD Software (Siemens NX, CATIA, or similar) including assemblies</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics (including compressible flow)</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience in test bench design and operation</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Excellent communication skills and autonomy</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proficiency in English is a must, German is an asset </p></li></ul><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0"> </div><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Why you should join us!</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">What makes us special here at The Exploration Company and why we think you will enjoy working here is:  </p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">We’re Agile - we make decisions fast whilst keeping our goals and systems in mind </p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">We’re Open and Collaborative - we are transparent about risks and obstacles, so that we can cooperate to overcome them  </p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">We have a lot of Fun - we refuel our energy knowing we are democratising space.
